Public Housing Maintenance Manager for Arctic Community
As this position requires excellent managerial and organizational skills the successful candidate will be required to meet the following: Engineering Technologists or Technician Certification or Journeyman Certification with a minimum of 5 years management experience in one of the following trades ? HMS, Carpentry, Oil Burner Mechanic, Plumbing or Electrical. He/she will be responsible for the overall maintenance and renovation of approximately 50 public housing units and includes staff housing units. He/she is also required to supervise and manage a crew of at least 3 personnel of various trades. The starting salary is $86,986.00 with Northern Travel Allowance of $28,477 per annum.
The appropriate candidate will have strong leadership, and good computer skills. Experience with the Maintenance Management operating System (MMOS) software is considered an asset. Experience in Inventory and Logistics is also considered a definite asset. He/she will have to deal with local contractors on a daily basis and be able to write and decipher contracts for both major and minor projects.
The candidate must be fluent in English. The ability to converse in Inuktitut is also seen as an asset to the position. We are looking for a motivated dependable and responsible individual who can oversee all aspects of the Maintenance Department of the Resolute Bay Housing Association.
Preference will be given to beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement who meet the minimum qualifications.
